  Welcome to our new recent updates of what is happening in the barrios of Illinois.  

The passing of Sally Ann Gonzalez Kmety a long time resident of Pilsen (Chicago) and an activist for equity and equality.  Memorial will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, 3-9 PM at Cruz-Sojka Funera 1427 W. Chicago, Ave.



The Jesus Chuy Negrete memorial (invitation only) will be held on September 12, 2021, 1-4 PM at the National Mexican Museum of Arts in Pilsen 1852 W. 19th Street. 

The David "Boogie" Gonzalez Ad Hod Committee would like to extend an invitation to visit the painting of the "Boogie" Mural on 18th and Throop Street.  Chief Muralist Salvador Vega is adding the special designed that would include the image of "Boogie".  The estimated day of completion is September 2021.

 It's that time again, Happy Birthday to August "Augie" Sallas, the former president of Little Village Community Council and a leader of the Mexican American Community.  August 28, 2021, Augie will reach the golden age of 86!
