Esperanza Gama, born in Guadalajara, Mexico, graduated with a BFA from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Guadalajara. She attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and studied painting at Gakukaie Sumie Center in Tokyo, Japan. Since 1994, she has resided in Chicago. Exhibits of her art have appeared at the Snite Museum of the University of Notre Dame, and the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago.
Jesús Macarena-Ávila has an MFA degree from Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont, and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His art projects been exhibited internationally and highlighted in publications including Art Throb, Art Lies, and Timeout Chicago. Macarena-Ávila has lectured at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia, the Australian National University in Canberra, and University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
   
Julio Cesar Montaño Montenegro, born in Tumaco, Colombia Pacific Coast. With BA from Pontificia Bolivariana University and Cultural Anthropology from IMA Medellin Colombia. He is self-taught artist, in his artwork he exploring culture, identity, and territory, has-been exhibited in the Chicagoland area at Art in These Times, Haitian American Museum of Chicago, Metropolitan Café, and Triton College Art Gallery.   Place article copy here. NEW CHAIRWOMAN


NEW LEADERSHIP: Attorney Marisel A. Hernandez was elected the Chairwoman of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners on Dec. 2, 2015. She has served on Board of Election Commissioner since Feb. 2007. This is the first time in Board of Election history, a Latina, has been elected Chairwoman. Hernandez is fluent in Spanish and English with a lot of experience in election law.
OTHER Board of Election Commissioners are William J. Kresse and Jonathan T. Swain. Executive Director of the Commission is Lance Gough and Kelly Bateman, Assistance Executive Director.
